The finc tank as its affectionately know is a build held dear to Custom Reef.

The aquarium was commissioned in 2017 by Steven Fisher, the owner of FINC architects.

The finc tank is the LARGEST DROP OFF aquarium ever built in the United Kingdom.

Drop off systems are often a challenge to aquarium builders because of the depth they are at their deepest point. Material thickness has to be carefully considered and the finc tank was no different, being 42 inches deep at her deepest point.

The area of the drop off  itself can be a point of weakness so has to be engineered accordingly.

It was a full system build comprising display tank, sump, stand, pipework, lighting, aquascape, equipment and livestock.

We built the tank from 25mm acrylic going up to 65mm at its' thickest.
